Felipe Muñoz Tirado (Coquimbo, 1996) es periodista, Lic. en Comunicación Social (Universidad de La Serena) y Magíster en Teoría e Historia del Arte (Universidad de Chile). Actualmente se desempeña como artista visual, docente universitario, curador, editor para proyectos de fotografía arte contemporáneo; es editor y director de Letargo Editorial.
Interesado por las problemáticas socio-políticas del territorio latinoamericano, utiliza la fotografía como medio ensayístico para pensar desde la visualidad las formas de afrontar el contexto contemporáneo. Así mismo, utiliza la palabra y el ensayo como recurso para estudiar y entender las transformaciones de la fotografía a raíz de los fenómenos sociales.
Recientemente ha sido ganador del Premio Regional de las Culturas, las Artes y el Patrimonio de Coquimbo 2025 (Chile), el Premio Artes de la Visualidad Rodrigo Rojas de Negri 2025 al talento joven en fotografía (Chile) y del premio Internacional Shannon Michael Cane 2025 entregado en NYC (USA).

Felipe Muñoz Tirado (Coquimbo, 1996) is a journalist and holds a B.A. in Social Communication from the University of La Serena, as well as an M.A. in Art Theory and History from the University of Chile. He currently works as a visual artist, university lecturer, curator, and editor of contemporary art and photography projects. He is also the editor and director of Letargo Editorial.
Interested in the socio-political issues of Latin American territories, he uses photography as an essayistic medium to reflect, from a visual perspective, on ways of engaging with the contemporary context. He likewise employs writing and the essay form as tools to study and understand the transformations of photography in response to social phenomena.
He is the recipient of the 2025 Regional Award for Cultures, Arts, and Heritage of Coquimbo (Chile), the 2025 Rodrigo Rojas de Negri National Award for Young Talent in Photography (Chile), and the 2025 Shannon Michael Cane International Award, presented in New York City (USA).
